All I need this Christmas

Imagine that 🙂

Totul are loc  acasa in familie.  Daca mai si ninge, e perfect!

Anul acesta insa e special.

Seriously now, what more can you ask for on Christmas when everything around you looks like it’s coming from a fairy tale and you have your loved ones close to you?

In Moldova we used to celebrate Christmas late, in January, but New Year’s Eve was December’s magic moment, which made us feel the true holiday spirit. The classical rush, with my mom in the kitchen, began on December 30, if not sooner, because we always expected guests on New Year’s Eve and everything had to be perfect. I used to crack so many nuts with my dad that they would have been enough for almost the entire year, and only when the meat-stuffed cabbage leaves were ready and the cake was decorated and refrigerated, only then I was allowed to go out caroling in the neighbourhood with the gang. But we couldn’t stay longer than 11:30 pm, because at midnight I had to be home to guard the Christmas tree, under which the presents for me and my brother suddenly and magically appeared. This thing lasted for a while, up until the third grade, when I realized my mother was the one stuffing the presents under the tree while my father took us out on the balcony to see the fireworks! Imagine that! 🙂

But for the past 13 years or so I learned to make room for Christmas and celebrate it as it should be celebrated. Romanian-style. Slow-roasted pork neck is the headliner, the main color is red, a Russian salad with pomegranate is a must, and so are the presents for everyone and movies all around. Everything takes place at home, with family. And if it happens to snow, it’s perfect!

But this year is special. I and these beautiful people felt the need to celebrate our friendship in a fairytale setting. Iris Flower Shop’s workshop, a superb heritage building located in the heart of Bucharest, a setting that was designed and carefully crafted by Nicu Bocancea, a special person that I got to know recently and who simply turned our dream into reality! Thank you!

Madalina was the one who came up with the idea of this shooting, so she rightfully deserved the master of ceremonies status. Madalina is one of the most generous people I know. A new mommy, but just as active and determined. One day she’ll move mountains. Just don’t forget to call us to capture the moment, sweetie! I know Elena from long before my blogging days, I still remember the day I met her: she cooked some delicious shrimp and I filmed everything. Yes, Elena is one of the pioneers of the online community, she already had a food blog, which has recently become a lifestyle blog, and also from her I learned the importance of attention to detail and how to give unconditionally.

Alexandra and Adrian are the fresh faces in the gang and they have come into my life just when I needed them. I have no problem leaving myself in Alexandra’s hands when it comes to makeup, because she’s an expert, and Adi is the one I always go to for styling advice, because a masculine eye always balances the situation. 🙂 Beyond the projects we carried out together, I am happy to have you all in my life, because you are amazing!

Last, but not least, we couldn’t have had this shooting without the main man, meet Andrei Mihai Cristian! The man behind www.postolatieva.com, web designer, photographer and most of the times a life-saver!

In the end, I wish you all a magical Christmas!
